Results of our Personality Tests: How to Properly Interpret Them

Let us begin by saying that the personality tests we designed are influenced by numerous factors, most of them subjective. Every person is different, and one of the purposes of psychological investigation is precisely to detect such differences, so as to provide a unique profile that is as fitting as possible.

Simplifying and summarizing the matter, we can state that there are five substantial factors that can affect the outcome of tests:

1. The age of the user
2. His or her cultural/experiential background
3. The degree of open-mindedness
4. The level of concentration and attention
5. The degree of sincerity

The importance of open-mindedness
This is a basic prerequisite in all tests that investigate personality, especially in the awareness test, in the awakening test and in the great personality test. By open-mindedness is meant not so much a predisposition toward others and acceptance of diversity, but the ability to turn one’s gaze inward and take note of one’s own way of being, with its limitations, idiosyncrasies, merits and flaws. Openness to oneself first, and to everything else as a consequence. In this regard it should be noted that the duality underlying the functioning of our mind pushes toward division and separation, that is, toward the categorization and radicalization of opposites: inside-outside, good-evil and so on. However, this is a mental and egoic illusion, as we will see in the next section.

The outer world as a reflection of the inner world
Reality could be described, in philosophical-spiritual terms, as a reflection of our more or less conscious fears, hopes and needs. Our inner world shapes our outer one. Those who accept themselves and their limitations will tend to perceive external reality more objectively, for better or worse, while those who are not accustomed to digging into their inner selves will need to idealize and categorize the outer world to compensate for a lack of inner awareness. All of this results, during the conduct of tests, in the choice of answers that appear to be “right” or socially desirable, but are not really felt by the user giving them. The motto of our portal originates from here, trying in its own humble way to stimulate readers toward introspection: γνῶθι σεαυτόν – nosce te ipsum – know thyself.

The interdependence of the five factors
Of course, each of the five elements listed above is closely related to all the others, to such an extent that we can define them complementary. Age affects a person’s wealth of experience and knowledge, just as the latter affects the degree of one’s open-mindedness. To make a long story short, the five factors are all important although that of age is to be considered decisive, especially when it is particularly young.

In fact, as we proceed with the analysis, we will see that test results must always be related to the user’s age group, and we will try to provide a customized interpretive formula for each of the main age ranges.

Mental Age Test: Interpretation of the result

mental age test logo

Link between mental age and biological age
Since this is a test somewhere between serious and facetious, suitable for people of all ages, the final score represents a still image of the user’s current mindset. It should be noted that very young subjects, particularly adolescents, tend to give sharper and firmer answers than older people, not infrequently obtaining high mental age scores. There is nothing strange about this; in fact, the test takes little account of the age of the taker, instead favoring the answers chosen. This explains how a 12-year-old boy can get a mental age score even higher than that of a 60-year-old.

Example. The question about illegal substances includes among the various answers this one in particular: drugs are bad. This is a typical answer from an elderly and wisecracking person, but it is more likely to be given by an inexperienced young person than by a navigated one who is more aware of the problem with drugs.

The role of personal expectations
Note then that older people tend to choose particularly carefree answers in the hope of seeing themselves take a few years off at least mentally. This is where factor number 5 comes into play, namely the degree of sincerity of the individual. The complementary phenomenon of very young people trying to give particularly serious answers to appear more mature also comes into play. There is nothing we can do about it; it is up to you to answer with the utmost transparency, or to decide whether to give caricatured, more or less socially acceptable answers, perhaps even just out of curiosity.

Additions and subtractions
Aware of this phenomenon, we have included a large number of very different questions and answers so that anyone can increase and decrease their score while taking the test. In this regard you should know that answers can add or subtract years. Implementing this strategy allows you to better balance the final result. So, if you give a slightly superficial answer typical of a rookie to a given question, you can always make up for it in subsequent questions and avoid being pointed at as an infant!

Awareness Test and Awakening Test: Interpreting the outcomes

awareness test logo awakening test logo

Foreword
In the use of these two unique instruments, the degree of open-mindedness and the level of attention play a key role, in addition to the age of the user. The responses are qualitative, reasoned; if read hastily and superficially they inevitably lead to a modest score.

General warnings
The awareness test and the awakening test should therefore be taken with utmost concentration, striving to understand the meaning of each answer, though seemingly trivial, before making one’s choices. Regarding the open-mindedness rate, it should be specified that the test setting requires the user to possess a certain degree of maturity and inclination toward introspection. It is unlikely that a teenager under the age of 16 would be able to grasp certain nuances inherent in the questions and answers, so it is recommended that younger people who nevertheless wish to take these two tests should do so in the company of an adult to act as a support.

Warnings for the hurried
Similarly, even an adult person accustomed to going about daily life on “autopilot” with little desire to get to the bottom of things would find these two tests hostile and uninteresting. If this is the case for you, our advice is to come back when you have an hour of time all to yourself, and only after you have emptied your mind of duties, responsibilities, and anything else that might push you to appear a certain way. Remember that giving quick, impulsive answers always leads toward a low-medium score anyway.

Authentic answers and socially desirable answers
A common problem with all personality tests, or perhaps we should say all people, is that which lies in the difference between answers perceived as genuine and those perceived as socially desirable. The most insecure individuals, those who give more weight to others’ opinions and appearances, as well as to so-called “political correctness,” show a certain predisposition toward answers that are considered “right,” but not necessarily perceived as authentic.

Let’s give an example; let’s look at the awareness test question about making judgments. We noticed that a lot of people choose this answer: judging is always wrong. But how many really feel that way? And how many, if they felt completely free from social conditioning, would rather pick this other option: we all make judgments, however, it is not necessary to externalize them (?).

If you feel that this is the case for you, no problem, now that you have taken note of it all you have to do is to repeat our tests treasuring this new awareness and you will see that the final result will be more interesting.

Now to the interpretation of the results
We assume that you have read the questions and answers carefully, that you have made your choices sincerely, and that your age is at least 16. If you are under 16 years of age, you should not be alarmed in case your score is low; it is perfectly normal. Come back and see us in a few years.

If you scored modestly, it means that:
– your consciousness is still in its infancy, either because you are too caught up in the material aspects of life (work, money, etc.), or because you lack spirituality and therefore believe, consciously or unconsciously, that human existence is reduced to just doing, consuming, possessing. Basically, you identify with what you do, what you own, and the concrete, measurable results you achieve. What is missing is the aspect related to Being and Feeling, without which, unfortunately, there is no possibility of developing awareness beyond ego and the perceptions of the five senses.

If you scored intermediate, on the other hand, it means that:
– your consciousness is alive, responsive and potentially ready to continue on its journey of expansion toward the infinite. This is especially true for those who are still young, say 40 and under. Those at an older age rarely experience jolts at the consciousness level, although in this field nothing can be ruled out with certainty. It is a journey of no return, meaning that once a broader form of awareness is acquired, there is no possibility of turning back. Moreover, progress in spiritual terms involves leaving behind everything that is not needed, having less in order to be more. That is why many decide, consciously or unconsciously, to settle for an alternate consciousness.

If your score is high, we can say that:
– you are a keen observer, curious, who seeks more authentic meaning even in the seemingly obvious and predictable things. A person who is unsatisfied, at least not in material terms, but in spiritual terms. Generally those who come to this level of consciousness do not do so by accident, but as a consequence of a conscious personal choice. Since you cannot return to being unconscious, your fate would seem to be sealed: you will have to continue on this path, whether you like it or not. If you try to do otherwise you will end up betraying your nature and you will find no satisfaction in doing so. If these words sound bizarre or incomprehensible to you, then chances are that you scored high by pure chance or because you were trying to unearth the “right” answers.

SPHERES OF INTEREST (Awakening Test only)
There are four so-called spheres of interest and they investigate certain areas of consciousness and behavior, while being, of course, interrelated. The score indicates the degree of advancement in that given field. Specifically they concern:

Detachment
The opposite of attachment, that is, the ability to psychologically detach oneself from everything that is worldly: objects, money, work, affections. Yes, even interpersonal relationships are part of this sphere: the soul seeks the absolute, while most earthly relationships based on kinship and mutual need are entirely transitory.

Disillusionment
After an initial phase of upset, denial and anger, comes disillusionment. The ego resists and does not want to give up its illusions and false certainties; while the soul, which observes things from an unearthly perspective, begins little by little to demolish everything that is no longer needed.

Inconvenience
A comfortable and leisurely life does not promote spiritual evolution and is ill-suited to the awakening process. Like it or not, suffering is a potential spiritual catalyst, and knowing how to distance oneself from the many conveniences of this consumerist world is a crucial first step toward a renewed vision of existence.

Symptomatology
The process of soul awakening reveals itself through a complex series of symptoms and phenomena that are not always easy to grasp. We tried to collect the most common and typical ones from the early and middle stages of the awakening journey.

The Great Personality Test: Analyzing the result

Haste makes waste
As is the case with the other tests, attention and open-mindedness are crucial. In order to give appropriate answers, one must first read them all carefully and take a few moments to think about the best choice. It is good to remember that there are no right and wrong answers, but rather answers that reflect one’s way of being more than others. The choice should fall on the option that is perceived as most akin to one’s way of thinking and being.

How I am and how I would like to be
The premise regarding attention and open-mindedness brings us to the second question, that of the eternal dilemma between how one really is and how one should/would like to be. Why does this happen? The answer is both trivial and complex. Simplifying one can answer that it is all the fault of society with its unattainable and unhealthy models of perfection. However, delving a little deeper into the matter, it becomes evident that human beings, by their very nature, always tend to conform to the majority. And so a split is created between what a person really feels and perceives versus what he or she should think and do according to the standards of society (or rather, the masses).

Reality versus Virtuality
An example? When asked questions regarding the area of conscientiousness, a large number of users answer impeccably, suggesting a remarkable sense of responsibility and thoughtfulness in every action. Then you walk out of your house and see that the majority do not obey speed limits, drive while being distracted by smartphones just a few inches away from pedestrians and bikers, get impatient over the slightest thing, and act in a manner that is often careless and potentially dangerous to themselves and others. Why, then, this dichotomy? Because in the real world people cannot pretend all the time and their true way of being sooner or later comes out, whereas when they are alone in front of a screen they can more easily play a different role.

If you think you fall within this definition, there is no need to worry: take note of it and when you feel up to it go and repeat our tests with this new awareness in mind; your results will be definitely more rewarding.

Let’s deal with the interpretation of the results
We assume that you have read the questions and answers carefully, that you have made your choices honestly, and that your biological age is at least 10. If you are less than 10 years old, we recommend that you take the test again in the company of a parent and have them explain anything that you find unclear.

What is the psychic energy level?
It is an indicator of one’s level of dynamism and vigor, both physical and mental.
A low level of psychic energy denotes a lazy, listless mind that tends to settle for first impressions. A kind of psychophysical energy saving mechanism.
An intermediate level of psychic energy describes a mind that is ready when needed, that does not back down when there is something to process, but also likes to relax from time to time.
A high level of psychic energy, on the other hand, outlines the traits of a mind that is hyperactive, at times agitated, always ready for action, sometimes even manic, and in any case unwilling to “unplug”.
The level of mental vigor also affects the body, so those who are mentally lazy will tend to prefer comfort, where “volcanic” minds will not be frightened by the need to make physical efforts.

Description of personality
The personality statement consists of a kind of composition tailored around each person’s responses. The description examines each of the 16 personality traits: sociability, rationality, emotionality, perfectionism, liveliness, extroversion, conscientiousness, sensitivity, tolerance, creativity, sagacity, self-confidence, autonomy, spirituality, irony, and selfishness.

The software creates a sentence or two about each trait by choosing from 80 different possibilities, and what comes out is a detailed, tailored description.
The personality traits examined are of equal importance, so none of them overpowers the others.

Unfitting description: What to do?
The Great Personality Test is designed to achieve maximum accuracy on the second and third attempts, so we strongly recommend that you repeat the test at least once. If you are satisfied with the result you can stop at the first run, while if you feel that the description of some traits is poorly fitting, you should repeat the test. With each new attempt you will be asked some new questions with the aim of investigating more deeply those traits that are not yet completely clear.

Logical Intelligence Test (IQ): What does the score mean?

logical intelligence test logo

Downplaying the importance of IQ
Let us start by saying that intelligence quizzes are, in our opinion, overrated. This happens mainly because of the predominance of the Anglo-Saxon mentality in modern society. Americans, in particular, love to measure everything, going so far as to sin in reductionism on certain occasions. Their mindset is predominantly pragmatic, which is a perfectly good thing, but, as in everything, exaggeration is never good.

IQ tests measure one part of so-called intelligence, and only that. As important as logical-mathematical skills may be, the human intellect is far more complex than that and cannot be measured altogether by a single questionnaire.

So, why an intelligence test, then?
For two reasons:
1) because it is fun;
2) because it is useful for training the mind.

Factors influencing IQ score.
It may perhaps seem obvious, but it bears repeating: the IQ score is heavily influenced by some entirely subjective elements, such as educational background, age, and familiarity with intelligence tests. Those with a science background have an advantage for obvious reasons, being much more accustomed to making use of logical-mathematical skills; but it does not mean they are smarter.
Those who have already taken other tests of this kind know how they work and what to expect, so they will be able to perform our test in a more sprightly manner by being able to answer more questions in the same amount of time.
Finally, we have age. Our test can be taken even by a child as young as about 10 years old. But let’s see how to interpret the score on the basis of age.

IQ assessment by age
The statistical mean of our logical intelligence test ranges from 85 to 115. This means that over 60% of the population, regardless of age, falls within this range. Now let’s find out how to relate (normalize) your score to the statistical mean according to your age.
If you are 10-12 years old: multiply your score by 1.3. Let’s look at an example. Absolute score: 70. Normalized score by age: 91 (70×1.3)
If you are 13-15 years old: multiply your score by 1.2. Let’s see an example. Absolute score: 70. Normalized score for age: 84 (70×1.2)
If you are 16-17 years old: multiply your score by 1.1. Let’s look at an example. Absolute score: 70. Normalized score for age: 77 (70×1.1)
If you are at least 18 years old: your score requires no adjustment.

The Youth Wisdom Test: Understanding the outcome

wisdom test original

Take your time
Just like all other ones, the wisdom test requires attention and patience. The questions must be read and understood before moving on to the corresponding answers. It is also essential to think through the various options offered before making your choice, otherwise you will end up selecting the first answer that seems sensible when there may be even better ones.

Don’t look for the correct answer
We advise you to approach this test calmly, trying to enjoy yourself as you look at the pictures and read the various answers. Therefore, avoid fixating on the result and enjoy the course without having a specific goal in mind. By doing so, not only will you enjoy the quiz, but you won’t even notice the passage of time. Of course, you don’t need to be reminded that you don’t have to go looking for the correct answers on search engines… do you? Where’s the fun in that!

Your age is important
Since this test is suitable for 9 to 15-year-old kids, it is obvious that the scoring system cannot be the same for everyone. A 15-year-old is undoubtedly at an advantage in terms of general culture compared to a 9-year-old, so we have introduced the so-called “age bonus,” which awards a certain number of additional points to younger people so that they can still score as high as an older individual. It’s not like a fifth grader is any less wise than an eighth grader!

The categories of the questions
The questions in the quiz are part of 3 macro-categories:
1) general knowledge and history
2) individual maturity
3) social maturity
Within general culture we find the questions with only one correct answer, while in the other two categories there are no right and wrong answers, only different points of view. A wise young person must necessarily know some proverbs from folk wisdom, so it is essential to study, get informed and be curious.
Questions concerning individual maturity deal with introspective ability, that is, knowing how to look within and how to engage in inner dialogue. Those concerning social maturity investigate the relationship with others, the ability to understand others and to establish constructive dialogue with those around us. The truly wise person also knows how to communicate with people and how to be understood. Interpersonal dialogue is essential, and the ancient Greek philosophers, such as Socrates, reiterated this often.

What do mythological deities represent?
The ancient Greeks ascribed certain characteristics to each God or Goddess. There were many gods, and we have selected seven, which is more than enough to represent the scale of wisdom. The gods were not all good and positive, but on the contrary they possessed all the merits and faults of human beings themselves. Dionysus, for example, was a character devoted to the consumption of alcoholic beverages, ate to his heart’s content, and worshipped sensory pleasures. His primary goal was certainly not to learn new things and become wiser. Athena, on the other hand, was very intelligent and astute, could do many things and was a great inspiration to human beings. We can therefore see the ancient Greek gods as examples of life, of the presence or absence of virtue and wisdom. In our ranking, the least wise is Polyphemus, that is, a strange creature located somewhere between the world of humans and the world of gods. The wisest, on the other hand, is Zeus, father of all gods and endowed with incredible powers.

What does a low score mean?
It can mean two things: 1) that you took the test in haste and with little seriousness; 2) that you still have a long way to go along the path of wisdom. In the first case you should retake the test more calmly and read both the questions and the answers carefully before making your choices. In the second case you should by no means demoralize yourself or feel demeaned, as every negative experience pushes us to improve. So don’t beat yourself up and keep studying, but remember that the path to wisdom also requires a lot of curiosity and willingness to put yourself out there. Knowing lots of things is a great starting point, but by itself it is certainly not enough.

What does a high score mean?
It means that you are well on your way to becoming a knowledgeable adult with balance. You possess a good amount of cultural knowledge, and you are able to analyze things from a non-obvious perspective, striving to understand what is in front of you and avoiding rash judgments. Keep in mind, however, that wisdom is an ideal and not a goal to be achieved, so its pursuit never ends. Thus, try to remain humble and keep questioning even what seems self-evident at first glance. Follow the example of Socrates, who knew that he did not know, and for that very reason was thirsty for knowledge and wanted to understand everything thoroughly.

You may have noticed that the thoughts of our AI-powered little robot are quite wacky! Junior has been programmed to come up with witty and irreverent comments based on the profile obtained from the user, and we hope his gimmicks have brought a smile to your face, because that is its goal.
